One of the best performances of the season saved for the Tour Match with Marple Rugby Club in Cheshire.
The team did not show any tideness from the tour activities of the weekend with training at Sale Sharks, attending Sale V Bath and all the team activities on the Saturday and late nights.

The match started well for Southwell with tenacious tackling by the team lead by Sam Smith who quickly flattened at least 6 of the Marple Team in the opening minutes.
Sam was out done by Simon, who put a crunching text book tackle in which everyone winced at!
He must have taken note of Olly Barkley at the Sale game when he drilled the streaker into the ground! Another story...

All 22 of the players available played their part and too many good performances to name everyone.
Joe Hammond soon broke through to commence the scoring and apart from an attempted fight back from Marple when they scored 2 tries either side of the break the Southwell team stepped up a gear and the opposition were broken down and had no reply to the intensify of the Southwell tackling and running game.

Man of the match Joe Ashworth scored a well deserved try by weaving through the opposition and ignoring Coach Raynors advice from the side line!

Final Score Marple 12 Southwell 37

A great end to a successful weekend.
