Socious Sports will be running their summer camp at Southwold RFC this summer (week of the 28th July). At present we are 20 % booked which is not too bad for March. Flyers have now gone out to local clubs and schools will be getting thiers after Easter. The course is £130.00 for the week, Monday to Friday 9.30 AM till 3.15 PM.

Below is a solid outline of what we will be looking to coach to each age range that comes along.

All age ranges are for the 2014 – 2015 season. All will be scaled up for age ranges, so U11’s for eg will also do what U7 & U8 do, but with more precision and higher expectations (and less time spent on it).

U7 & U8 – core skills, catching, passing, crash ball, off loading, tagging, team defense (rush), live coaching in game times, games

U9 – Contact contact contact. Tackling from the front, side and behind. Two man tackles. We will work on ball presentation, dummy half requirements, popping the ball up. Focus will also be on getting the ball wide, simple passing down the line to more intricate plays. Team defense, rush and drift. I will get my hands on them and get them ready for the following season

U10 – rucks and mauls (a lot of focus on this), contesting the break down area. Scrum half decision making, basic scrums and line outs. Setting plays up add contact and ball skills from above

U11 – Kicking. Rucking and mauling with more than 2 players. Contesting the break down, decision making from the break down. All round game sense, team play backs and forwards work

U12 – All of above. Team play, forwards and backs separately

U13 and up – 15 a side. Game management, decision making
