New Ground - End of Year Update for 2018

2 weeks ago By Nicky Franklin

What a difference a year makes! Another year over and so much has been achieved at the New Ground.

Thanks to Peter Jullien and a fantastic team of volunteers, supporters and local suppliers there has been alot of activity at the New Ground and so much achieved in its development both inside the new Clubhouse and out on the pitches/ ground.

From basic facilities such as electricity and water supplies; to substantial ground works both on the pitches/training grounds, around the changing room blocks and the main clubhouse. The addition of a lovely new toilet block, working changing rooms with hotwater and floodlights for training and playing under.

Not only have we seen the Clubhouse expanded with the addition of a new unit but the interior has been transformed (and it isn't even finished yet) too. With new fitted kitchen facilities and storage; new ceiling insulation and plastered walls - so much has happened in just twelve months.

For the full story - read Peter Jullien's full end of year report attached - it is well worth the read. There are also lots of photos on the website following the progress of the New Ground too.

There is still much to do so the hard work will continue into the New Year and we need more funds and volunteers. If you think to can make a contribution please do not hesitate to come forward and talk to either, Andy Delay, Martin Beecham, Peter Jullien or the Mini and Junior coordinators Peppa Saunders and Paul Wilks on Sunday mornings or via text or email (all details are on the website). Also keep your eye out on our Facebook pages and website for the call to arms as when we need helpers to complete projects.

Also if you want to help with fundraising then we have Club Schemes including 'Donate a Brick' or ' Monthly Lotto'. The forms for these are also attached to this story.

Wishing all our players; coaches; members; volunteers and all their families a very Happy New Year and here's to an exciting 2019.
