Jamie Jackson Leaves For Matlock Town

11 months ago By Non-League Webmeister

The Tulips' much-vaunted front-man has left for elevated pastures new: farewell James, you'll be missed!...

Striker Jamie Jackson today joined NPL Evo-Stik Premier side Matlock Town.

Having been out of the game for approx eighteen months prior to joining the Tulips in September 2017, management were fully aware that it was highly unlikely the striker would remain at Step 4 for long. The much-publicised budget cuts currently affecting the Tulips probably accelerated his departure, but the club was always aware him being part of the squad would likely prove to be short-term.

Jamie provided excellent link-up play in the Tulips' forward line and scored four goals in his brief time with us, most notably that splendid hat-trick at home against Sheffield FC back in early October 2017.

A great talent and wonderful chap to have around the changing-room, the club would like to thank Jamie for his contribution as a Tulip and we wish him all the very best on his onward trajectory...

The Tulips are next at home in NPL Evo-Stik South action v Alvechurch FC this coming Saturday 2nd December (KO: 3.00pm).

Admission prices at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field throughout 2017/18 are as follows:-
Adults: £9.00
Concessions/Students: £6.00
Youths (12-16): £2.00
Accompanied U12s: FREE!
Matchday Programmes: £2.50

In spite of a recent run of results that have gone narrowly against the Tulips, we very much hope we can count on YOUR invaluable support for this fixture: one major factor that we're confident will see things turn around is having the good townsfolk of Spalding & surrounding areas getting 100% behind Chris Rawlinson and the players - Come On You Mighty Tulips!!!
