Despite another man-of-the-match performance by Tulips' forward Ben Davison (pictured), a solitary strike in first-half added-time by Josh March saw second-placed Alvechurch FC return home to the Midlands with all three points.
The Tulips had their opportunities to get something from the game, most notably two gilt-edge openings which fell to Cenk Acar and Jonny Lockie, but Lady Luck once again opted to bestow her affections elsewhere and the Tulips - who more than held their own throughout, as they have all season - were left to contemplate a sixth successive defeat and another dip towards the dreaded relegation trap-door (the club currently lies sixteenth in the NPL Evo-Stik South rankings).
A full Match Report by Ray Tucker will follow at some stage on Sunday; unfortunately, we're a tad thin on the ground regards photos from the game this week as our club tog has been away in Yorkshire this past weekend.
One final word from Saturday relevant to our Matchday Mascot, Peter, who was taken poorly midway through the game: "Get Well Soon, Peter" - thanks for being such a trooper and we look forward to having you back with us again soon!...
Next Saturday 9th December the Tulips are away at Loughborough Dynamo (KO: 3.00pm).
A minibus with limited seats available will be headed to the game, departing the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field at 10.30am sharp. Cost for transport is £10.00 Return, plus there'll be the added cost of admission at Dynamo. All interested parties are asked to please contact Louise Maplethorpe via email@example.com to reserve their seat.
