With our erstwhile Nordic God headed for pastures new, much debate (not to mention coin-tossing!) took place in Tulipsville to see which first-team player might sit centre-stage on the updated 2017/18 SUFC Commercial Portfolio.
Even though due consideration was given to Tulips' new skipper Adam Jackson in full-flight 'crazy-legs' mode, a snap of Matt Varley, interpreted as pointing the Tulips forward to what we hope might be promotion to the Evo-Stik NPL Premier League, made the final decision that bit easier and so it is that our veteran midfielder enjoys his place in the sun (that's him securely settled in Tulips' blue for 2017/18, we trust!)
This new version of the Commercial Portfolio (available to download as a PDF from within the Documents section of the website, and attached below this article) outlines all manner of Sponsorship, Advertising and Marketing opportunities available to individuals and businesses, as Spalding United FC look to secure the all-important backing that will help ensure we compete favourably in 2017/18.
New to this version of the Portfolio is the Spalding United Personal Sponsor (SUPS) initiative which encourages fans of the Tulips to commit just £5.00 per week (via Direct Debit/Standing Order) to earn membership to a new Club Scheme.
In return for their weekly contribution (vital in providing funds for the club's continued operation on and off the field), participants will enjoy member-access to the Tulips Lounge (located inside the Tulips Social Club) on matchdays and be included in a members-only WhatsApp social media group which will feature regular contributions/updates from Tulips board/management staff, including First-Team Manager Chris Rawlinson and U21 Development Squad Manager Lewis Thorogood.
We really hope the new SUPS initiative encourages fans to engage deeper with the club and demonstrate that they are willing to contribute (in addition to their matchday admission and/or Season Ticket fee) a little extra to the club's continued and long-term success.
In 2021 the club will celebrate it's centenary; we feel that in recent years solid foundations have been laid for the club to build on the success so notably achieved on and off the pitch in 2016/17, with an unprecedented league position and higher numbers coming through the turnstiles than have been seen for many years.
Anyone wishing to sponsor the Tulips in any way can do so by contacting any member of the club's committee/board. For more information please email:-
