Gate are delighted to welcome back last season top goal scorer to the club

I know he is ready to get back into action and hopefully his goals will start coming early
- Andy Clarkson on Pett resigning

After rejecting offers from both clubs in the league and higher in the pyramid Pett has committed to the club for another season.

Gary came to the club from neighbours Blackpool Wren Rovers as one of then manager Danny Penswick’s first signings. After the team struggled at the start of the season and others left, Pett showed his commitment when it counted.

When manager Andy Clarkson came in, his first job was to move Gary from midfield to up front and that’s where he shined. Playing a key part in how the club moved from relegation threatened to mid-table, Pett played a lonely role up front like a pro.

Gary scored 23 goals and his efforts were recognised by the opposition who awarded him Man of the Match 10 times. He made 41 appearances and recorded countless assists.
Gal’s efforts were recognised at the end of the season when he was awarded player of the season.

The club are delighted that Gary has bought into our values and ambition and all look forward to seeing him link up with new signing Ric Seear and scoring goals again for the club.

On resigning the striker, Manager Andy Clarkson said: “I’m delighted Gary Pett has resigned for us this season. Gary had numerous clubs from leagues above after his signature but after lengthy conversations between myself and Gal, he’s decided to stay.

For me Gal is like signing a new player and I know he is ready to get back into action and hopefully his goals will start coming early. His enthusiasm and desire to do well for himself and the team for me is clear to see and he is another great character to have in the dressing room.”
