Squires Gate are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Scott Harries from Lancaster City. Scott rejoins the club some six years after leaving to ply his trade in the Evo Stik.
In that time, he’s impressed clubs in a higher-level listing teams such as; Kendal, Northwich Victoria, Clitheroe, Warrington and most recently Lancaster City as his former clubs.
Whilst playing at Clitheroe under manager Simon Garner, the winger picked up the Young Player of the Season award as well as being named in the Evo Stik Division One North Team of the Year.
Scott started his footballing career at AFC Fylde under our manager Andy Clarkson, then the Development Manager at AFC Fylde. He then moved to Gate under Russ Mckenna where he’d enjoy several fruitful season’s linking up with Louis Mayers, Chris Bennett and Ben Fishwick in a deadly attack. That form got him noticed by then Kendal Town manager Lee Ashcroft who would again link up with Scott later at Northwich Victoria.
After falling out of favour with Vics, Scott re found his love of football with Clitheroe, where as previously mentioned he received Young Player of the Season and was featured in Team of the Season alongside team mate Sefton Gonzales. His fine from with Clitheroe didn’t go unnoticed as Evo Stik Premier Division side Warrington Town acquired his services, going on to challenge for the Play offs to the Conference North.
This season Scott moved closer to home with former Gate managers Phil Brown and Dave McCann bringing the attacker to newly promoted Lancaster City in the Evo Stick Premier Division. Scott was a long-term target of manager Phil Brown but saw his opportunity’s in the team limited and asked for his release three weeks ago.
Manager Andy Clarkson is delighted to link back up with Scott who goes straight into Saturday’s squad to face Abbey Hey at The Brian Addison Stadium.
Welcome back Scott, we luck forward to seeing you pull the Blue shirt of Squires Gate back on!
