LAMMAS MAINTAIN WINNING STREAK

LAMMAS MAINTAIN WINNING STREAK image

The Lammas made it 5 straight victories with a 1-0 win against basement boys Farleigh Rovers.

The Lammas enjoyed the majority of the possesion in tne first half and went close on several occasions however it was the vistors who should have gone into the break ahead when rather fortuitously for the Lammas the ball rebounded off the post with Dan Cox well beaten. The Lammas created enough chances to win this game but it was decided late on with a Gary James penalty when Matt Baxter was upended in the box. Farleigh belied their League position with a spirited effort and went close late on only to see the ball roll agonisingly along the goal line with nobody on hand to tap in. A welcome 3 points for the Lammas as they maintain 3rd spot and a good run sees the Lammas make it four games without conceding a goal. Next up is a trip to Westfield on Tuesday evening in the Surrey Premier Cup.

The Reserves came away from Raynes Park Vale with a creditable draw whilst the 3rds were denied progress to the next round of the Surrey County Cup having lost on penalties to Caterham Old Boys when the game finished 3-3 aet. The 4ths won 7-2 at Shalford to maintain top spot in the GWAFL Division Three
