A little under two weeks since our last game of the season and First Team Manager Adam Bessent is already looking ahead to next season. He has been quick to appoint John Nunn to the role of Player/Assistant Manager.
Along with brothers Ross and Paul, John made a few appearances for Lammas last season but in his new role he will also be working alongside Adam and Jake, looking to strengthen our playing squad for the season ahead.
John has managed a very successful Sunday side over the last 3 years, leading them to 3 successive promotions and 3 cup wins. The side has included current and former Lammas players as well as some experienced non league players.
John had this to say about his new role, "I'm looking forward to getting started, I know the boys well already so hopefully it will be a smooth transition. I've got a lot to learn still and Adam is one of the best at this level to teach me. I can only see positives going forward and can't wait for the season to start."
Speaking of John's appointment, Adam said, "John knew I was keen to strengthen our playing squad again in the Summer, last season we struggled with our strength in depth when certain players were unavailable. He has extensive contacts around our local area and he has already been hard at work to boost our squad numbers in time for pre season. Having excelled in Sunday management, he is now keen to start using that experience and take his first steps into Senior Saturday football. I am looking forward to working with him on and off the pitch and I think his knowledge and enthusiasm will only benefit the Lammas next season."
We would like to officially welcome John to the club in his new role and we wish him all the best.
Adam also informed us that 15 of last year's playing squad will be staying on at the Lucan Pavilion for the 2017/18 season, which is fantastic news.
Up the Lammas!
