Wot no snow Chess Valley at Home

All was hopeful as we faced Chess Valley again, the 3s had waited a while since there last venture what with the snow and forfeited games they had not had a run out in a few weeks.

The game started with Saints showing there strength through there forwards who took control keeping all the action in CV half but it still took time for there defence to bend enough for the first try half way through the first half.
Soon this was followed by CV coming back with trys of ther own but Saints dug in to produce two more trys before the whistle went.

The second half started again with Saints showing strength up front retaining the ball in the rucks to create the overlaps needed for the backs to run in two more trys although CV showed again and again they weren’t going easy.
It was during the second half that Tim ‘the gazelle’ Davy broke from inside our own half ran through the CV and was on his way to scoring the try of the game but his laces caught round his ankle and with 2 yards to the try line his 22 stone body came crashing to the ground with the help of a slight ankle tap from the opposition his shoulder popped out of place letting the ball run forward.
With Davy now gone the scrum jiggle itself back into place enough to again create the overlap that was needed to run in two more trys.
CV attack to the end show great attacking prowess but were kept out but the Saints defence with the ref blowing for the end.
Special mention should be made for Hesh who was unable to make any friends and Bob ‘the grandad’ Percy coming back on for Tim although was injured himself.
