Bill joined the board of directors during the 1960's when the club was in the Midland league and served as vice-chairman for a number of years before standing down as a director in 1999.

Bill continued to support the Daniels and regularly attended Stamford's home matches.

He was also a member of the Stamford branch of the Royal British Legion.

Ill health meant that Bill's visit's to Borderville became less frequent but he always supported the team when he could.

The club will advise supporters of Bill's funeral arrangements when known.
