Their annual Lace day was held in July at The Borderville Centre and saw old and new members making lace and shopping at suppliers stalls. Jeanette Holdstock demonstrated the use of a spinning wheel and the different fleeces used to make yarns.

A tea party was also organized and a relaxing evening was spent viewing needle craft artifacts kindly lent by Pam Harper and drinking tea.

Also as part of the Club’s yearlong fund raising there was a charity evening and auction organised by Club member Marc Palmer which saw his friend, Martin “Wolfie” Adams host the event. Marc also held a charity darts tournament.

Commenting Paul said, we’d like to thank the ladies and gentlemen of the Lace and Needle Craft Group for their generous donation. The group is one of many local organisations that now use the centre as their regular meeting venue or headquarters.

The final total is still to be confirmed, but it will be in the region of £2,000 raised.
