Stamford started the brighter with a number of attacks in the opening minutes but a mixture of resolute defending and near misses meant that Stamford were left frustrated. With the opportunities coming think and fast for Stamford the deadlock was finally broken by Harry Cameron for Stamford and after some great team play a seconded goal was added before half time by Charlie Willis.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first, with Bourne defending resolutely and mounting a number of counter attacks which were dealt with effectively by the Stamford defence. With Bourne pressing two more quick goals from Stamford again from Harry Cameron and Charlie Willis put the tie beyond doubt and in the final minutes Harry Cameron capped a great Captains performance with his hat trick.

Ian Edwards (Manager) was extremely pleased with the teams overall performance in which all of the squad participated in a great victory. The team really deserved this victory and also the chance to play in a Cup Final and it is a testament to their hard work and commitment after many years together in the PJAL’s top division.

The PFA Cup Final will be held vs. Baston at 5pm on Monday 15th May at the Abax Stadium, London Road, Peterborough and all are welcome to attend.
