Daniels Again Dominate but Fail to Take Their Chances
Another long range strike from Liam Adams was not enough for the Daniels to claim all 3 points at the Zeeco. Writes Stephen Breden.
Five minutes in and Stamford had the lead as Liam Adams ran from near the halfway line before shooting from around 22 yards and found the back of the net despite being fairly central. Three minutes later and the Daniels lead was removed as a cross to the back post from Elliot Parrott wasn’t dealt with leading to Ryan Smith heading across goal giving Iyseden Christie an open goal and he didn’t miss.
On the 20th minute a Jake Duffy free-kick was headed goalwards by a Bedworth defender forcing a great save out of the Bedworth keeper. From the resulting corner, the ball came back to Jake Duffy who cut inside and shot and this was well saved by the keeper with his legs.
Four minutes later Elliot Parrott volleyed wide from a dropping ball following a corner. Five minutes later Liam Adams kept the ball in play as it was about to go out, he then played it to Eliot Putman who crossed but Jordan Smith put his header wide.
Two minutes later Liam Adams cut inside and shot but it was comfortably saved by the keeper. Five minutes before the break Reece Blackmore headed just wide from close range. Three minutes later Jordan Smith headed the ball over the bar.
Five minutes after the break Jordan Smith was played in on goal by Jake Duffy but he was denied by a great block. Ten minutes later Delroy Gordon headed over from a Jake Duffy corner. Two minutes after this Jordan Smith closed down a Bedworth defender as he went to clear, the ball fell to Liam Adams who volleyed well forcing a good save out of the Bedworth keeper.
On the 66th minute Levi Rowley laid off a free-kick to Richard Blythe who curled his shot just wide. On the 70th minute Jake Duffy shot from long range but this went well over. A minute later Liam Adams also shot from range but this went well over.
Three minutes later and Stamford couldn’t get through the solid Bedworth defence so were forced to shoot from range as Eliot Putman shot well over. Five minutes later Jon Challinor replaced Sam Hill. A minute later a curling Eliot Putman shot was easily saved. Four minutes later Bedworth’s Levi Rowley was played in on goal and looked to square the ball to the onrushing Khaellen Bailey-Nicholls but he didn’t get there. A minute later Elliot Sandy replaced Jordan Smith.
The last chance of the game came from Jake Duffy who had his indirect free-kick blocked by the wall.
