Get to know Stanford RFC's biggest (in more ways than one, Big Rob, Big Rob) Sponsor.

• As Stanford RFC’s main sponsor tell us a bit about your companies.

I started in 2005 setting up HDS Securities establishing itself as a provider of high standard manned security inside the developing security industry. One of our first major contracts was with The Port of Tilbury, since which we have grown in Essex to be a leader in our industry, gaining C.Ro ports in Purfleet and the Dartford international ferry terminal to other local companies like DSV Road, RT Rate, NFT, P&O Ferries, CG Richard Ellis, Cruise & Maritime, BWSC, I big Solutions, Hyundai UK and lots more.
HDS Personnel has steadily developed a reputation for providing a quality, multi skilled workforce in Essex Area. Initially formed in 1987 HDS Personnel has since expanded its activities to cater for a range of firms within the Port of Tilbury and external clients bringing substantial skills to the local logistics and warehousing and rail industry.

• How did you get involved with Stanford RFC?

My son Mark asked if he could go and I took him up to the club one Sunday. From standing on the side line as dad it didn’t take long for me to get involved. Working in partnership with Dave Payne I became heavily involved with the rugby and start playing again myself.

• Your role as sponsor has developed into being a key member of the club’s committee how and why did this happen?

I believed in what the club was trying to do and that was to give something back to the community but as a small club it needed help and I have been able to provide this over the years.

• What is the biggest enjoyment you get out of being involved with Stanford RFC?

The biggest enjoyment for me is seeing the kids with smiles on their faces, whether they win or lose, it’s the taking part.

• What is your best memory to date of being involved at the club?

Scoring the winning try on a league game and breaking my leg doing it, and becoming a life a member

• What do you hope people will look back and say about your involvement in the club in the future?

I hope they would say what a nice guy, his heart was in the right place

• You have achieved a large amount over the years what is your aims for the future?

I would like to see the club grow and the 1st team and 2nd team getting promoted to the higher leagues, the Sirens going from strength to strength and a strong Youth and Mini following on behind.

• As a player what is your favourite memory?

Being in the changing room with the 1st team, putting on the Stanford number 5 shirt and getting to play with my son Mark.

• As a player what is your funniest memory?

Going over a line in a scrum, thinking it was the try line diving on the ball to score a try, only for the scrum to carry on and all my team mates turning around around to see what I had done, I did this twice.

• Dinner date pick three people to have dinner with dead or alive and why?

Paul O’Connell as he reminds me of my self and the position we both played lol
My Mother as she has always been there for me
Then either Lawrence Dallaglio or Martin Johnson as they are great players

From all at Stanford RFC thank you for your continued financial support and all that you do for the club.
