Today Stansted FC play in the first preliminary round so the FA Cup against Hoddesdon Town FC. This is the first competitive game of the season after our pre season warm up.

Stansted win the toss and kick off. Both teams had plenty of the ball in the 1st 5 or 10 minutes and Hoddesdon had the first set piece of the game with a corner but they smashed the ball over the cross bar.

Stansted counter attacked and had a shot with the keeper getting his finger tips to the ball but was left in no man's land but Stansted could not get on the ball to slot home the goal.

On 17 minutes Hoddesdon win another corner, they crossed the ball in and under the cross bar with Raj Shergill palming it away but it dropped to a Hoddesdon player who put the ball wide.

On 34 minutes Hoddesdon were on the attack, crossing the Ball into the box and Shergill dived to his post to make a good save.

On 37 minutes Stansted were on the attack with Isherwood putting the through ball to Tom Lakin, the defender came across and took Lakin out and was given a yellow card.

Second half Gulliver off Le Masurier on

On 49 minutes Hoddesdon create the first attack of the second half, down the right hand side, crossing the ball in for the striker to volley it just past the post.

Hoddesdon on the attack again putting the pressure on, but Shergill making a great save to keep it 0 - 0

On 65 minutes Hoddesdon make a substitution number 10 off and number 12 on.

On 68 minutes Stansted win the ball in midfield, Tom Le Masurier put the ball through to Tom Lakin and he struck the ball straight at the goal Keeper..

On 69 minutes Stansted attack once again but they could not capitalise and the keeper saved again but there was a scuffle in the centre of the pitch in the build up which saw Connor Martin receive a yellow card

73 minutes sees Hoddesdon hit the crossbar

80 mins Hoddesdon won a free kick on the edge of the Stansted box. The free kick was taken but the wall done well and Stansted cleared the ball.

81 minutes Stansted on the attack with Meadright running at the defence and he beat the centre half and the ball was hit at goal with the keeper making a save.

Straight away Stansted were on the attack again with only the keeper to beat and again the keeper saves for a corner. The corner was taken and Connor Martin heads wide.

86 minutes Hoddesdon won a corner but headed past the post, the game is fast and furious

Deep into In injury time Hoddesdon were on the attack and the winger hit the ball scoring a wonder goal
