Airportmen out of FA CUP.

Redbridge hosted fellow Essex Senior League side Stansted in the Emirates FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round as they were looking to win in this competition for the first time in six years and with it take the £1500 prize money on offer.
The first chance of the afternoon fell to the home side which came through a free-kick well taken by Lindisipho Mtyanda but Stansted keeper Tim Pitman was able to claw the ball away with a diving save.
Stansted were creating chances of their own the best of which came through striker Reggie Yembra as his long range effort was comfortably saved by Lewis Greene. Soon after the same player had another opportunity after the home side gave away possession but this time his attempt flew wide of the post.
A good chance for the Motormen followed through Mtyanda who curled his effort goal wards but the ball was just a fraction over the bar, striker Jacob Dingli then had a chance which he spurned..
Redbridge were starting to get on top and Calvin Poku fed Mtyanda who was unable to find anyone in the box when maybe would have been better placed to have had the shot himself. Dingli then fired in a good cross finding the feet of Poku who controlled at first before slipping and losing the ball.
The best chance of the game so far followed for Dingli who found himself through on goal but chose the wrong option in trying to round the keeper rather than shoot first time however he took the ball too wide and the chance was soon lost.
The opening goal soon came and went the way of the home side scoring when a through ball from Remi Nelson found Mtyanda in space and he ignored the shouts for offside and calmly slotted home past Pitman in goal.
They were however not in front for long as Stansted managed to equalised just 3 minutes later when the lively Reggie Yembra popped up with a diving header to level the scores. It gave the away side confidence as they then produced had a couple of chances to take the lead through Anthony Aylett and yet again Yembra who headed wide from a Ben Swift cross.
It was harsh on them to therefore concede just before the half time whistle as Poku was on hand to stab home giving the home side a slight advantage going into the break.
The first chance of the 2nd half went to Stansted as a corner led to a goalmouth scramble with Greene eventually saving on the line. That chance seemed to be the last the away side could muster as the rest of the half belonged to the home side.
Substitute Brian Moses set up Mtyanda but his weak effort was easily gathered before Poku then held the ball up for Moses who dragged his shot wide. He made up for it moments after as got on the end of a deep cross to get up highest and head home at the far post to give some day light between the sides.
A lovely ball from Mtyanda found Poku who was able to get the ball onto his right foot but unable to keep his shot down as it flew over the bar. Another Redbridge substitute in Joe Gent
almost made an immediate impact as he started and almost ended the move but goalkeeper Pitman got down low to make a good save and deny the winger.
Redbridge were able to see out the final moments of the match and eventually ran out winners
