Entertaining game in the Brasted Trophy

Sawbridgeworth Town 4 v 3 Stansted FC
Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy

With both teams playing there first competitive match since last year, the sides produced a very entertaining end to end match, and neither side were fielding their strongest eleven in this Brasted Memorial Trophy match.
Stansted began the game very brightly and within twenty minutes were 2 goals up and it could easily have been three or four.
On 5 minutes Stansted striker Jeff Williams-Bahh picked the ball up down the left flank and his cross ended up at the feet of Jake Buckland who coolly slotted home. Williams-Bahh, and Chid Onokwai then had good chances to increase the visitors lead but failed to convert them.
It was in the 20th minute when good approach play from Ryan Barker-Francis led to Stansted's secong goal, a fine effort from James Blackaby.
The visitors had dominated the game for the first half hour but then the home side began to get a foothold in the match which led to good efforts very well saved by Stansted keeper Reece Paine.
It was a minute before the interval when Sawbo's Mitchell Das got one back for the home side with a fine headed goal.
And within minutes of the re-start Lewis Deamer had bought the home side level after good work down the left from Wappett. From this point Sawbo began to create more chances and deservedly took the lead on 65 minutes with a second goal for Das.
Going behind for the first time in the match seemed to rally the visitors and they then deservedly equalised when skipper Gary Rowntree equalised in the 80th minute. This led to ten minutes of end to end football as both sides looked for a winner with great chances for Stansted's Barker-Francis and Sawbos George Wappett, neither being converted. It was the home side that got the winner when again good approach play down the left flank from Wappett led to Das completing his hat trick.
