Many of you will have seen the picture of Sonny that hangs proudly above the bar at Tregorrick Park. This September 3rd marks the 20th Anniversary of the untimely passing of one of our former teammate Michael "Sonny" Liston.

Sonny tragically died playing rugby as a result of breathing in toxic fumes on a fire he attend the day before! Fire service procedures changed nationally because of this incident.

To remember him a memorial rugby match will be played between Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and a joint Liskeard-Looe / St Austell RFC / Lankelly team. Kick-off will take place at 1.30pm at Lux Park. Please keep in contact with this Facebook page as further details will follow.

Sonny deserves our recognition and respect, let’s all make the effort to attend and give his family a day to remember!
