After Steve Murley (possibly the nicest guy in rugby) announced his intention to step down as 1st Team Coach at the end of the 2017/18 season the Executive Committee, in consultation with Steve, began to interview candidates and this process has now completed.

Interim Chairman Joel Double is pleased to announce that the 1st Team Coach for the 2018-2019 season will be.....Ex-Cornwall Captain, Cornish Pirates and currently Redruth Back Row Kyle Marriott!

Definitely much more to follow on this but for now Kyle has this to say:

"I am extremely excited to be joining St Austell next season. I am really pleased to be moving onto the next stage of my rugby career with them. St Austell is a big club in Cornwall with an excellent set up up and I am keen to get started with them in the new season. I have had an amazing four years with Redruth and I would like to thank them for my time there, it was a difficult time leaving professional sport and they made it far easier as they have with the latest transfer. Since my time involved with St Austell a few years a go i have always followed them and kept up to date with goings on. I am looking forward to continuing to develop my coaching with the club whilst hopefully making myself available for selection as well."
