Like many clubs we have taken full advantage of the internet and social networking technologies like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and others to support communication between players, coaches, members, parents and the public.
Even though these groups are assumed to be closed everyone needs to take personal responsibility for what is posted. Please be aware that comments and pictures can very quickly get into the public domain causing embarrassment to individuals and even contravene Child Safeguarding polices.
This is particularly important when the dialogue is connected with the Youth Section but it applies equally to the Seniors and Ladies.
The Youth Section have issued two documents for 2015-16 and I would highly recommend everyone takes time out to read:
I would also ask that when people engage in online discussions they maintain the highest standards of politeness and show respect to fellow members at all times. Please remember we are all volunteers working together to make St Austell RFC the best it can possibly be both on and off the field of play.
Sharing differing views promotes a healthy debate but this must never stray into personal attacks on individuals. It is totally unacceptable to publicly criticize or abuse individuals no matter how strong feelings are running. Any legitimate concerns regarding the actions of anyone should be taken up with a Committee member so that it can be addressed in the appropriate way.
Thank you One and All!
