Ex-Old Albanians’ centre Perry Hughes became the fifth addition at Tregorrick as the senior squad starts to take shape for the 2014-15.

A highly rated centre, who is equally potent on the wing, he started his playing career with Old Albanians where he played county level for Hertfordshire from U16s through to U18s. Perry went to the University of South Wales where he captained the 1st XV. He also played for Newport Saracens during his time in the Principality. Since moving to Cornwall two years ago he has played for Newquay Hornets RFC.

Perry said “Now that I've settled down in the Duchy I'm looking to play as high a standard as I possibly can and I am willing to put the hard work in to get there. At the moment everyone can see that something special is going on at St Austell, and I am really excited to be a part of it. Hopefully I can contribute to what looks to be a successful few years ahead.”

Director of Rugby Andy Ashwin said “We have had a busy close season and there could still be more to come. It is a real testimony to how far we have progressed as a Club that we have been able to attract a number of talented and ambitious players to Tregorrick. Perry is another great addition to our squad and will bring added vim and vigour to our centre and wing options. With an already strong squad from last season being boosted by the new signings and the graduating Colts we are starting to get real competition for places across both the Saints and the Sinners. This will give us the strength in depth we need to sustain challenges in SW1, the County Cup and the Merit Table."

Welcome to Tregorrick Perry!
