St Austell 17 Wadebridge Camels 20

The 21 players who took to the field on Saturday did St Austell RFC proud with a brilliant display that pushed Wadebridge Camels to the limit. In a magnificent advert for Cornish rugby, the Saints were pressing hard at the death but could not find the elusive score that would bring the Cup home to Tregorrick.

Inspired by the tales from the team of 1978, the Saints showed their potential to more than compete with South West One side Camels. Follow this link for the full match report.

As memorable as the game itself was the sight of Saints' young and old joined together in song in the bar at Penryn.

A performance each and every one of the 21 selected should be proud of, this is just one more big step on our journey and not the destination. It was an absolute privilege to be part of it albeit from the side lines, but this display shows what we are capable of and we will back stronger and even more determined, our hands will be on that Cup soon and so will SW1 rugby!
