Sinners Team Manager, touch judges, match day reporter, scoreboard operator and video operator are all needed for 2014-15!

With the season fast approaching St Austell RFC is looking for volunteers to support the Saints on match days.

Sinners Team Manager

The Sinners are looking for a Team Manager to work alongside Coach Dave Clark and Captain Tony Knight to make the sure the squad are fully prepared come match day including organising meet times, locations, warm-up kit, playing kit and first aid essentials.

The role also involves checking player availability and helping with the selection to ensure we have the best team possible.

Touch Judge(s)

The Club needs to provide a touch judge for every home and away South West One league game and County Cup matches. We are looking for a volunteer to run the line, or a group of volunteers who would able to be do it on a rota basis.

This would suit an ex-player still wishing to be involved or someone with aspirations to become a rugby referee or players from one of the older age groups (U15s upwards) who would like to be involved with the Senior squad. So if you able to give up a few hours for home games or longer for the away trips in support of your Club and fancy a little bit of exercise on a Saturday afternoon then this is the role for you!

Match Reporter

Are you or someone you know a budding sports journalist? Do you have aspirations to do media studies at college? Do you believe the word processor is mightier than the ruck?
Then how about writing the Saints match reports that feature on the website and in the local press? Again we are looking for a volunteer, or a group of volunteers to share the task. This would suit a student with an interest in media studies or a keen eyed rugby supporter who wishes to share their insightful views on all things Saints in a weekly narrative with a wider audience! Reports need to be submitted to the papers by first thing on Monday morning.

Scoreboard Operator

We need someone to operate the scoreboard to ensure it reflects the right scores while the Saints rack up the points. So if you are comfortable adding up in denominations of 3, 5 and 7 then this is the role for you!

Match Video Operator

Nearly all of the Saints matches are currently filmed by Bernie Shepherd and used by the coaching team to analyse the games. We would like additional volunteers to film from a different angle and to provide cover for Bernie on the rare occasions he is not available.

Anyone interested in any of the above roles should contact Paul Hayes ASAP – paul@hayes-cornwall.co.uk or 07515 881 799.
