This week we spoke to old boy Dick Francks.

1. What are your nicknames at the club?

Doctor Dick, Old Git – and others that people are too polite to use when I’m around.

2. When did you join Chads and why?

In 1984. I’d just moved to Leeds, and lived near the ground.

3. Which other clubs have you played for?

I played in Oxford, London and Scotland before coming here.

4. What is your most memorable Chads match or moment?

Has to be the day we won the league for the first (and so far only) time.

5. Who are your all-time top three Chads players?

Dollars, Khawer, Bereza and (I’ve been here a long time, so I’m allowed an extra one) Amir.

6. What are your top three self-promotion facts?

I was ever-present in the league-winning side at 60. I’ve done a lot of odd jobs for the club down the years. I once stumped the same batsman three times off the same ball.

7. What tune would you most like to go out to bat to?

A sympathetic silence.

8. Which sportsperson do you compare yourself to and why?

I don’t really compare myself to sportspeople. If they were like me, they wouldn’t be sportspeople.

9. What do you love the most about Chads?

The Chad has been part of my happy life for 30 years. How could I not love it?

10. What is your favourite part of the Chads ground and why?

The spot on the pavilion wall (I don’t know exactly where it is) where Amraze hit the ball to seal the league title.

11. What one thing would you change about the club?

The (lack of) drains, and the bumps in the outfield.
