Recovering from Freeston's opening blitz wasn't easy, but our Y9 team showed great effort and determination to score first half tries through Dec O'Donnell and Joe Woolley. Along with one conversion by Ben Fisher, it made the score 10-6 at half-time but the lads knew they would have a tough time up the hill in the second half.

Freeston came out all guns blazing and were soon 14-10 in front, but Eddies battled toe to toe with their strong opponents and were soon level with a try in the corner by Connor Deane. A draw would have been enough to see us through but Freeston's outstanding centre broke through our defence to make the score 18-14. Eddies had further chances to win the game late on but could not quite break down the Freeston defence.

Disappointing to lose a game we might have won, but good to hear the determination from the team that we will bounce back and improve next year.
