EGM on Thursday for all to attend; a message from Dave Moran:

Dear All,

I write to invite you to an Extraordinary General Meeting of St Edward's Old Boys RUFC. The meeting will be held on Thursday 21st August, commencing at 8.30pm.

The agenda will comprise one item only - The Future of St. Edward's Old Boys RUFC.

The meeting has been called to provide the club as a whole an opportunity to consider the direction of the club in the current circumstances. It follows the open meeting of the club committee held last Thursday. At that meeting, it was made clear that those present were committed to ensure that the rugby club continued to exist going into the new season although it was accepted that this was only likely to be with one team. Opinions were divided on which course of action - continue to compete in the RFU leagues (perhaps at one level lower, if possible) with that one team or to compete exclusively in the North West Intermediate Rugby Union League with that team (if allowed to do so) - was preferable. In view of the uncertainty regarding the feasibility of both these options, further information has been sought from the appropriate bodies.
-
The debate on the sole agenda item will therefore be informed from feedback from both the RFU Northern Competitions Committee and the North West Intermediate Rugby Union Leagues (requested but still awaited).

This meeting is open to all members of the Rugby Club. Please ensure this message is shared by whatever means possible (email, text, Facebook, Twitter etc.) to encourage the widest attendance so that the decision taken at the meeting will be informed by all who have a stake in the club. If you are unable to attend, please submit your views in writing, they will be shared with the meeting.

Subject to the nature of the debate, it is possible that the matter will need to be put to the vote. In view of this it is important that as many as possible take the opportunity to have their views heard and ultimately their vote taken into account.

Regards

David
