Under 12's Match Report - 18th Sept 2011
A great game today.....
Stoney Stratford 7 Steeple Claydon 3
A great game today saw the Claydon U12s lose to Stoney Stratford 7 goals to 3. Stoney led early on but Claydon equalised through Rowan Bullivant. Alex Clarke in goal made some great saves and the Claydon defence held firm for a while but were finally beaten late in the first half. However just before half time Claydon equalised, through a superb lob from the edge of the area, giving Rowan and the Claydon team a second. All square at half time.
Second half started frantically and after 5 minutes after a great passing manouvre between Cory Dowdall, Alex Clarke and Sam Bruder, Alex broke free with a one on one with the keeper. He cooly slotted home the opportunity to give Claydon the lead. Claydon held the lead for ten minutes with some great defending from Connor Stigar, Mikey Chittenden, Steve Jefkins and Harley Dowdall. The front two, Maliek Rahman and James Barker started to get isolated as the team legs tired and the Stoney Stratford lads scored 4 goals in the last 20 minutes.
