Not only was the win thumping but so was my head trying to tune in to the match highlights from 7 excited kids on their return from the match. Great to see though the level of enthusiasm and enjoyment they all exuded on their return to the club post match.

On the night everyone contributed with the bat to a very impressive total of 103 runs scored of the bat in the 20 over match. Harry Bang top scored with 29, but Kai Reed and James Sharma were not far behind with 24 runs each. Rebecca Goodman hit 18 and Freddie Bang and Connon McLaren each helped the cause with 4 runs each.

All in all a very healthy total was achieved 103 runs off the bat + 29 extras - only 5 wickets lost @ -5 each all added to the starting score of 200. So 103+29-25+200= 307 runs for the Stenny Innings.

In reply Ferguslie were never really in the hunt, thanks to some excellent fielding and some tight bowling. The Ferguslie total runs off the bat was only 69 + 27 extras - wickets lost 6 @ -5 a piece added to the 200 starting score. 69+27-30+200=266 runs for the Ferguslie Innings.

Pick of the bowlers was James Sharma with 3 wickets for only 8 runs conceded, then Rebecca Goodman did her bit for girl power with 2 wickets for 19 runs, the other wicket taker being Kai Reed.

So a thumping victory by the margin of 41 runs and wee Stenny chalk up 2 points, well done lads.

Now for the tricky decision as to website man or woman of the match. Harry Bang's 29 good but not quite enough this week,Kai Reed's 24 and a wicket is getting closer still, Rebecca Goodman almost became the first Girl/Woman of the match with her 18 runs and two wickets - close but no cigar this week Rebecca. The decision goes to James Sharma for his 24 runs and 3 wickets - well done James a great return.
