STEWARTS & LLOYDS CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

At Stewarts & Lloyds Mini Rugby Club we believe that taking part in our sport should be a positive and enjoyable part of children's lives.
We want to make sure that children are protected and kept safe from physical, sexual and emotional harm while within the rugby club environment.

To do this we have the following aims that should be read in conjunction with the RFU Child/ Young Player Protection Policy:
A. There will be an identified person whose role will be to deal with any concerns regarding abuse. That person will record details of concerns and deal with them appropriately, involving outside authorities as required.
B. The Club will ensure all coaches/volunteers wishing to supervise mini rugby will undertake to take a standard Police Check. The club secretary will hold copies of these documents on file.
C. The club secretary will keep written records of parental consent, health details, emergency contact numbers and any accidents/incidents that occur.
D. The Club will ensure that all coaches / volunteers will be made aware of the RFU Child/Young Player Protection Policy. Copies will be available on request for parents/guardians.
E. The Club will encourage all coaches/volunteers coaches / volunteers to attend a 'START Coaching Rugby Union Course' and 'Child Protection NCF workshop' when available.
F. Coaches / volunteers must ensure that they are never in a situation where they are alone with a child and must always ask for another adult to be present.
G. The club will encourage and help coaches' stay up to date with rugby coaching and child protection issues.
