If you are the owners of any astro turf boots or football boots in decent condition for players aged 16 and under then please hold on to them.

In the coming weeks Steyning Town Community Fc is relaunching a concept Steyning Strikers ran some years ago. Most parents are fed up of paying £30+ every few months for new astros and football boots for all their kids. Many of the outgrown boots are never used again even though they remain in excellent condition.

The concept of the boot room is simple. Bring along your unwanted boots along to the boot room at STCFC rather than chuck them out. Then other local parents can buy a pair of boots for their children for £5 with all proceeds going to the club.

Ben Pace, coach of Steyning under 11's has relaunched this project. There is a boot room cupboard at the club that will be open every Saturday during the season when a game is on from 2pm until 4.30pm. Parents can come along, let their kids try on some boots and pay for them at the STCFC bar.It is also hoped this will encourage more people to come to the club and take in a match with their family.

The whole project will be managed through a website where you can view stock and add photos of new boots donated.

The full launch will be in the coming weeks. Watch this space for the launch and when you can take your boots along.
