A three goal salvo inside ten second half minutes saw Runcorn Linnets secure three league points at Brocstedes Park.

At half time it was hard to separate the two teams and no-one would have guessed which side had until recently been chasing the NWCF League Championship.

Linnets looked to be struggling for any of their early season form while Town competed well all over the pitch in a first half of very few chances.

The second period started brightly for the home side and Tom Lightbody was unfortunate not to give Town the lead after excellent work from Adam Storey.

As often happens a miss at one end of the park leads to a goal at the other end and Kevin Towey's excellent strike (54 mins) gave Linnets the lead. This spurred on the visitors and two goals inside sixty seconds from Kyle Hamid (63 and 64 mins) sealed the spoils.

Town will attempt to get back to winning ways on Thursday evening (17th April) when AFC Blackpool are the visitors to Brocstedes Park, Ashton. kick off 7.45pm
