The club has recieved the sad news of the death of former player Mike Davock (13th April 1935 - 19 February 2018)

Mike passed away on Monday 19th February at the age of 82 following a short illness.

Hailing from St Helens, Mike was an amateur player with Everton FC before joining his home town club St Helens Town. Mike played 15 games for Town during season 1955-56 scoring seven goals. Making his debut in a 1-1 draw v Lancaster City at Hoghton Road, Sutton on the 2nd April 1956.

A tricky outside left, Davock was soon attracting scouts from a number of clubs including First Division Burnley. The former England international and World Cup winner John Connelly explained the luck in how he came to be signed “The Burnley scouts were there to watch another player, Micky Davock, who went to my school. But he went to Stockport”

Mike died in in Poole where he played his last competitive game for Poole Town FC. His wider family still remain in St Helens with his wife, children and grandchildren in Poole.
