Town’s Veteran’s side sponsored by Contego Security UK Limited have been forced into a period of inactivity as the Liverpool Business Houses League Veterans Division lost a couple of member teams forcing the competition organisers into cancelling the League.

The club’s Secretary Jeff Voller has been working with the manager Dave Platt over the last couple of weeks are we are delighted to announce the team has been accepted in the Liverpool and District Sunday League.

They will make their debut in the competition on Sunday 19th October 12 noon kick off at home to Hunting Ledge FC.

Jeff Voller said, 'We were contacted by the League a few weeks ago after a couple of teams dropped out of the competition.

'League officials felt it was inappropriate to continue with the number of teams reducing to five so we were left with no opportunity to find an alternative competition.

'We are committed to providing opportunties to players over 35 but the new league is an open age competition so we can now have a mixture of our Vets and other lads which is a good compromise'

Full league fixtures will be added to the club's website in due course and we will be aiming to bring some match reports and photos throughout the season.
