Tough Encounter at Ampthill Expected

The Minis travel to a hotbed of rugby over at Ampthill, out in the wilds of Bedfordshire...

Ampthill & District Community Rugby Club
Dillingham Park,
Woburn Street,
Ampthill
MK45 2HX

How do I get there?

Basically get to the A421 at the ‘Black Cat Roundabout’… how you do that is up to you, either via the A14/A1 route, or the A428 route…

Once you’ve reached the A421 head towards Bedford…

Exit at the Junction with the A6 – Bedford / Luton, and at the roundabout take the first exit towards Luton.

Stay on the A6 going around 3 roundabouts, before you get to Clophill…

At the Beefeater roundabout in Clophill, you want the 3rd Exit on to the A507.

Follow this road for around 3.5 miles, going through 2 roundabouts… at the next take the 3rd Exit – staying on the A507.

Stay on here for around 1 mile, then turn right into Woburn Road (B530), then along here on the right should be the Rugby Club (it may even be signposted, or visible by this stage)…

Google maps reckons taking this route should take just over an hour!

Those of you with SatNav systems, should be able to find the place without a hitch! (Just plug in the postcode, and away you go)

(The following directions from their website, which is the route described above)…

From the North (Bedford A6)
Leave Bedford on the A6 South (signposted for Luton). Stay on the A6, past Elstow, Wilstead, and Haynes Church end.
Turn right at the Clophill (Beefeater) roundabout onto the A507.
Stay on the A507 past the 1st Flitwick roundabout, and carry straight on over the 2nd (one-o-one Ford garage/A5120) roundabout.
Turn right at the next roundabout, taking the A507 (Ampthill bypass) towards Ridgemont.
Past the industrial estate (on the left), take the right turn for Ampthill (B530, Woburn St.).
Ampthill Park is on the left, with the Rugby Club on the Right.

Also, please note:

Parking - Please DO NOT park on the grass verge on the road outside the club. There's plenty of overflow parking available opposite the club in the Ampthill Football Club or main Ampthill Park car parks.

Dogs - Please note that dogs are welcome at the club BUT they are not allowed on the pitches at the club and not allowed at all on the school fields at Alameda & Redbourne

Please be there in ample time to get prepared for undoubtedly tough matches.
