Welcome the coaching team, old and new......
While many are thinking of the beach, the Bulls are already planning their activities for improvement in the season ahead.
Ok, it starts with a beer festival on Saturday 24th June. Naturally, this befits the Club’s renown for its enthusiastic welcome of new players and members and its excellent social side.
Immediately following the weekend the Players’ Meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 27th June gives the chance for players and coaches to agree the season’s objectives before pre-season, beginning on Thursday 29th. Sessions are aimed at all senior sides, be they 1sts, 2nds, Vets or under-17.
Following the successes of last season, (3rd for the 1sts, 2nd for 2nds and the Golden Boot for the Vets), the Bulls will be aiming high. Given three senior sides, we are looking to strengthen the playing membership to push for honours. We would welcome new or returning players to join us.
Emphasising the intent on improvement, last season’s head coach Phil Brown has introduced changes to the coaching structure.
“The Club is delighted that Max Dominy and Paul Ashbridge will continue in their roles. Further great news is that John Naylor, most recently of Shelford and College RDO at Cambridge University, will be joining us as a lead coach. His playing experience and coaching ambitions are superbly aligned with those of the group. The debates we’ve already had about getting to the next level of performance can only help improve the standard throughout the Club as we push for honours. We warmly welcome him to the Club.”
The buzz around the Chicken Shack is for sure one of excitement about the times ahead.
