At this evenings Board Meeting at St Ives Town Football Club a vote was held to appoint a new Chairman for the 2012/13 season at Westwood Road.
Both Paul Reason and Sheldon Francis were elected, after a vote by the Board of Directors, to stand for the next three years in the capacity as Joint Chairman.
Sheldon spoke to the website this evening to say “This is a great opportunity for Paul and I to drive the Football Club forward and continue the role left most recently when Ashley Griffiths chose to step down in May” he added “It is fundamental that we continue to strive to make the football club a continued success both on and off the field”
Paul and Sheldon, who are both local residents of St Ives and local businessmen, were appointed to the Board three seasons ago as Director of Fundraising and Vice Chairman respectively. Both have a vested interest in local football having played for the football club previously over the years.
Paul also added “Whilst there are two people occupying the role as Chairman in a Joint capacity, it is important to recognise that the club has a solid foundation with our existing and newly appointed Board of Directors and going forward, we will all continue to work hard in ensuring that this football club is firmly on the map”
