So the first league game was upon us before you could say pre season friendly!

Hatfield Town away a quick 15 minute trip so not to bad.

It would be a much changed team to take the field from wednesday after losing Ed Horey (dead leg), Matt Chappell (romancing), Darren Spinks (not signed) and both Chris Vargas and Michael Pestana (holiday).

Also with certain staff absent due to drinking duties at V festival a helping hand from Kaine Lovett and Pier Angelini was very much appreciated.

With british summer weather at its very best the game started in a downpour! Smart play in the middle from Paul Evitt led to some good through balls we really sould have gone ahead but didnt have to wait long.....another through ball which Dritero jumped on and slammed the ball into the bottom corner from across the goal...1-0!

Not 5 minutes had passed when another through ball....Dritero onside and a great chip over the keeper who had come out to close down 2-0.

We really should have been out of sight before half time with Adamos trying to walk the ball over the line and some great free kicks put in by Paul Evitt which we failed to get on the end of......but as you know in football if you dont take your chances it comes back to bite you hard!

After stopping another Hatfield attack bang on half time Dom Angelini smashed the ball up field only for it to hit the attackers back leg fly over Ellis Lynch in goal and into the back of the net.....shocker!!!! 2-1

So after few words at half time to get the boys up again we were out and up against it........the goal before half time had given Hatfield belief and we were on the back foot.

Tony Molanari was brought on for an injection of energy in the midfield on 60 minutes.

We were up against it for the next 20 minutes with Hatfield pressing and pushing to get level....but right when it looked like we would concede we got a free kick that was delivered into the box and who was there to finish.....Scott Mcgunniess 3-1 game over.

Eddie Mclouglin was on with 10 minutes to go as Dom Angelini was suffering from cramp.........he done well to win some big headers as hatfield had one last go.

So with the makeshift team we had a very good performance and win.
