New season, new Crosby St Marys.

The first competitive game of the new season will be a cup game against an experienced Newton-Le-Willows side. These two teams have met on numerous occasions throughout the years which more often than not bring about a very close fast paced game. Although the sides are no longer in the same leagues none of the previous fixtures will be forgotten. Crosby will be after revenge from last years fixtures in which Newton dominated.

Crosby ended the previous campaign with a string of victories and continued that with an excellent performance vs Ormskirk Crosby will be hoping for a much better run in the cup this year as in the previous year we unfortunately were knocked out against Birchfield in a close fought game played at Widnes.

The club and players are excited to get the season under way and are looking to start well. None of this can happen without making sure that players leave ewverything on the pitch and fight for every inch. We look forward and expect this to be a tough match but the new belief and optimism will spur the players on.

Crosby's team looks completely different from the team it fielded in the last year and there have been many changes throughout the squad. New players into the side which have strengthened Crosby's offence and defence since their previous meetings as well as the return of a number of key players from injury have proven instrumental all through pre season. All the hard work put in from all the players and RFU coach Martin Powell will be put to the test. Crosby will be looking to reap the rewards of the effort and preparation put into this season and will be looking to continue onward in the cup with a good win.
