U14 Tournament at Sandy
Well done to the U14 mixed squad which comprised of Chloe, Natalie, Charlotte, Claudia, Toby, Joe, Charlie and Dom.
The above turned out on a very cold but bright day to test their skills and team work against 3 other teams. Unfortunately, Alice, the goalie was unable to play so the team persuaded Charlie to go into goal for the first match where they played a fantastive game and won easily. Following lots of discussion, Chloe volunteered to go in goal for the folling 2 matches and having never played in the position before pulled off some great saves and St Neots won one match and drew the next, which secured us a position in the semi finals having won the pool.
Charlie very kindly offered to don the goaie kit again for the semi final, there were chances from both sides but when the whistle was blown it was 0-0, this lead to the match to be continued until a golden goal was scored- the team fought hard and managed to slip a goal into the net. we made it into the finals!
The final match was against Shefford and Sandy and was our toughest game, unfortunately we were caught out by Shefford and Sandy taking a very quick free hit and were in the D before we had time to blink and scored the winning goal!
Everbody played well, but I think Chloe and Charlie have to have a special mention as without them in goal the story could have been very different! Well done U14s...lets hope for a win next time!
