When the opposition warm up involves a long run and highly focussed drills it usually means the worst. ( Not always, but usually!! ).

Alas, as the SN 2nd Team took to the field, the focus was to defend like crazy and look for the breakaway goal.

To say that the first 15 minutes went to plan would be an understatement. NM were slick and ferocious, and after a good attack took the lead. 1-0 to NM. SN would not lie down at this stage, and found some space on the right, and after a fine cross by Kevin Sequenza, Danny Rowland slotted the ball into the far Left corner for a sublime goal. 1-1. Within no time SN were at it again. Elan Anish sent the aerial ball through to Danny Rowland who drew the keeper, and then passed to a waiting Kevin Sequenza. 1-2 to SN, and we had the NM superstars well and truly rattled.

The rest of the match was a result of the SN minnows prodding the Mighty Bear once too often! NM began their onslaught, with some excellent hockey and slowly but surely ran SN into the ground. The NM scoring did not falter thereafter resulting in a heavy defeat for SN.

SN can hold their heads high though, as they fought like terriers. Why NM are fielding such a strong side in NW4 is a mystery, as clearly this team needs to be playing in far higher leagues.

Man of the Match was awarded to Rob Mitchell, for an excellent performance on the left.
