Stobswell would like to announce that it will be presenting a cheque for £3500 to Hearts & Balls after the club’s 50th Anniversary Dinner held at the Invercarse Hotel on 28 September.

It was the most successful social event ever held by the club and it was fitting that it was to celebrate 50 years of Stobswell RFC.

It was a fantastic event that was enjoyed by all who attended the evening and it was fantastic to see 200 people in attendance to celebrate, including members from local and rival clubs including Treherbert RFC, Panmure RFC, Dundee High FP RFC and Waid FP.

The club raised a fantastic total of £6500 over the course of the night through ticket sales, raffles, auctions and silent auctions.

With that in mind, the club would like to thank the following people for their support of the evening:

Special thanks also go out to Redwood Leisure (Invercarse Hotel & Boars Rock), Scottish Rugby Union, Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Warriors, JF Kegs, Mecca Bingo, Yankee Tattoo & Mark Bennett aswell as everyone else who provided auction, silent auction or raffle prizes. The club extremely appreciates your support.

Finally, a massive thank you goes to Ian McKeen. His hard work, dedication and sheer perseverance allowed the night to run smoothly without a hitch. Well done!

The club will be presenting their cheque to Hearts & Balls at half time in the Glasgow Warriors vs Leinster match on Friday 23 November at Scotstoun Stadium.
