Venue: The Memorial Ground, Headlands Road, Bramhall, Stockport, Cheshire, SK7 3AN. Date: Saturday, 18, April. Kick-off: 3pm

Sean Gill is hoping victory against Leicester Lions on Saturday will act as a confidence boost as Stockport look to end the National Two North season on a high.

Port have been relegated back to National Three and know they will finish bottom of the table, but since then they have remarkably been in the best form of the season so far.

Port have picked up 10 points from their last six games including a win in their last home game v Otley.

The Red, Green and Whites were thrashed 55-0 by Leicester earlier in the season and have lost their last three games against the Lions, but Stockport's Gill is confident they can end the season in style.

"Since that defeat we are a much changed side. We're playing more as a unit and everyone is in their strongest position," said the prop.

"I think now we have no pressure on us, we can really take it to our opposition. Confidence is high at Headlands Road, we're looking to enjoy another win. I think Leicester are not going to expect what we will bring to the game on Saturday!"

Leicester have lost four of their last five matches and are hoping to record a victory over Port to really secure their place in National Two for next year.

Gill made a return to action last weekend in the 55-24 defeat to Broadstreet after a nine week absence due to a knee injury, but says it good to be back playing again and playing at Headlands Road.

17 of Port's 19 points have come at home this season and Gill thinks they can add a few more to their name before the end of the season.

He added: "I thought our performance at Broadstreet was very positive. We had good structure and good attack. It was unfortunately our defence that's let us down, we need to complete the tackles early.

It's hard to come back into your first game back from a nine week absence, but I'm just glad to recover in time for the last few games.

I think every team is stronger at home. There is nothing better than playing on home turf and I am hoping for another good result this weekend.

Kick-off is 3pm at Headlands Road.
