Hiding your shirt number doesn't hide you!!!
Even when we are at home we play away!!!
Given that we haven't played at home since Oct 7th, who were we kidding to think that our scheduled home game against North Manchester would actually take place at Headlands Road!! With the game called off early on the Saturday morning, we were all free to do our own things and watch the Autumn internationals until Ed Weeks ruined that with his encyclopaedic knowledge of the league rules meaning the fixture was switched to North Manchester's apparently playable ground. Given that their ground is a mere 14 miles from ours the apparent huge difference was too much for some players however we landed with a full compliment plus 5 subs.
We then found that the home team had all of 11 players so after JR had recovered his toys from the pitch after he had launched them out of the pram, the game commenced with JR, Dave Burr and Si Bollington all playing for the home side. Despite the conditions underfoot, Stockport were soon on the front foot with an opening try from full back Lee Percival which he also converted to provide a 7-0 lead which was soon 12-0 after some neat footwork and a smart finish from wing Tom Mitchell. The half drew to a close with flanker Dan Zelinka dotting down after some great approach work by centre Kyle Chapman, also converted by Percival giving the visitors a 19-0 lead.
Onto the second half which saw more players moving around to assist the home side however the scores kept on coming despite the best efforts of captain Andy English who twice broke the line and with only the full back to beat on both occasions, he managed to get himself tackled and throw the ball in any direction except ours!!! Second half scores from wing Bollington, flanker Tom Mountley and second from Percival along with another conversion saw the final score at 36-0 to Stockport.
