Stockport Sports face Wigan Robin Park on Tuesday evening at Robin Park Arena looking to continue their unbeaten run and record a fifth victory in six games. Peter Withe's side have been in great form of late but they know they will have to work hard to record a victory against the Lancashire side who currently find themselves in seventh spot but are only a win or two away from the top places.
Wigan Robin Park come into the game in great form on the back of a 6-0 win at home to Stone Dominoes and will be looking to carry that form into the game against The Saxons. Their danger-man Philip Howard has 10 goals to his credit so far this season and will have to be monitored by The Saxons.
The Saxons have defeated Ashton Athletic, Bacup Borough, Alsager Town, Norton United and drew against Colne going into this game and they will be looking for a positive result after a poor display at weekend. Striker John Marsden has been in fabulous form of late, he is the form striker in the league, and he will be hoping to add to his 14 goal haul.
Peter Withe and his assistant Joey Dunn may be tempted to make changes after a disappointing display against Colne, the likes of Callam Gardner and Aliou Traore are desperate to come back into the starting line-up, while Raphale Evans may also be available following injury. Lee Madin may also be available, while Jay Mehmet is a player who would improve any side in the league. Sean Symons appeared for the Development Squad at weekend and may come into contention. Donaldson Sackey the Togolese international striker has featured for the reserves in their last two matches, but after struggling to find full fitness he has now left the club.
The match kicks off at 7.45pm and supporters of The Saxons are urged to attend and cheer their team on to what will hopefully be another victory.
