Happy Christmas - Message from our Chairman

Happy Christmas - Message from our Chairman image

Firstly and most importantly on behalf of the club. I would like to wish you and your family and friends a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the new year.

2009 has been a good year for the club on all fronts. Playing numbers and performance have been strong, bolstered recently by the 1st XV returning to winning ways and our Mini/Juniors go from strength to strength. A significant step for the club has been the launch of the Youth Academy facilitating and encouraging players from 16 to 20 to remain and develop within our club and the sport in general. We have seen the recent launch of our new website www.pitchero.com/clubs/stokeontrent; if you haven't had a look yet, please do so and join the site to receive information updates. On the grounds and facilities side, we have literally broken new ground with the drainage works now complete on Pitch 3 and 4, which are now open and being used. I am sure that you will agree that this is a superb facility for us all to use. We are now pushing on with the floodlighting of pitch 4 to enable its full use and further improve our rugby facilities.

I would like to recognise and thank all of our volunteers, helpers, supporters, parents, coaches and staff without whose tireless efforts the club simply would not function. Special thanks particularly to all of our sponsors; without your support, well......!!?? A plea to everyone for your continuing support and a request if you feel you can help, contribute, become more involved with the running of our club in any manner, please contact me or any members of the committee.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all

Jeremy
