From the gaffer monty alexander -

For a team put together over the last few weeks pleased with the all round performance against a first div side , looking forward to the new season.

From lee addison -

I thought that the game was ok, nothing overly convincing. Great team spirit throughout. Thought there was patches when looked good however seemed at 100 miles per hour and were looking for killer pass but we couldn't do it. Need to develop in simple play.

From chris lax -

Started off a little wary passed the ball about in small spells but lost our way in last third, should have kept ball better however this is the first game this set of lads had played together some big plus points: committed spirit determination workrate and could have snatched the lead against run of play but beaten by letting ourselves down giving a cheap n needless free kick away however if we continue with that performance we will win more than we lose.

From Kris Kamara -

It was a bitter sweet day, We showed that we can comfortably match a good 1st Division side without showing what we're really capable of.

Positives to take, included the work rate of the lads and the solidity of the back 3, who were faultless throughout. However we'll need to improve our ball retention and overall creativity but that will come as the team understanding develops.

Overall a draw would of been a fair result, but ultimately feel it was a game that was there for the taking.

From Steve Connolly -

I think we rode our luck a bit for the first 20 minutes, but once we settled into the game the chances for the opposition were limited. Going in 0-0 at half time gave the lads the belief that they could win the game and should have been the platform to build upon. However, whilst we dominated for periods in the second half we didn't retain possession well enough or create enough chances. The fact that the only goal of the game came directly from a free

Kick says it all really. The lads will be frustrated at missing an opportunity. They maybe didn't do enough to win, but definately didn't deserve to lose against the first division opposition. Certainly plenty of positives going in to the first league games of the season.
