Swans suffer heaviest defeat of season to Langney Wanderers

The Swans suffered a difficult afternoon at the hands of second placed Langney Wanderers. Swans won the reverse fixture back in September, but there was to be no repeat as Langney ran riot in the second half.

A slow start from the visitors saw Wanderers score twice inside the first ten minutes. A Joe Warner penalty and an equaliser from Dean Gilmour gave Swans some hope, but Wanderers scored a third and fourth before the break.

Wanderers fully stamped their promotion credentials in the second half, Wayne Wilkinson scoring his fourth of the afternoon in the 82nd minute.

Full time 11-2

Results elsewhere saw AFC Varndeanians who sit one place below the Swans lose 3-1 at Hailsham Town, St Francis were beaten 3-2 at home to Ringmer, Midhurst's recent revival was halted at leaders Little Common 2-0 and bottom placed Southwick beat Selsey 1-0.

The Swans travel to local rivals Billingshurst on Tuesday night in an important Division One match for both sides.
