As part of their fundraising efforts for an overseas tour next season, the Under 15s would like to offer the newest members of the Club from the U7s, U8s and U9s, the opportunity to share their knowledge by holding a skills camp at the Club over the Christmas break on Wednesday 21 December 11.
The current U15s were the first Stow M&J team for many years to win a County Cup in 2005 and they have regularly made Cup finals and Semi-Finals at all age groups. The aim is for the U15 players to coach, which will also support their efforts to achieve Sports Leaders and Duke of Edinburgh awards. However, all 4 of the qualified adult coaches will be in attendance to supervise and all of the activities will be appropriately planned and supervised. The sessions will be planned by Wayne Loxton, who is an RFU Level 2 coach, a qualified PE Teacher and an all-round good egg and David Marchant, Rob Miller and Kelvin Brown are all Level 1 qualified, so your little ones will be in safe hands. Needless to say that the coaches also hold the relevant CRBs accreditations.
Please note that the age groups have been chosen deliberately and unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate any under 6s or older age groups.
Registration will open at 1015. Coaching will start at 1030 and culminate in a mini tag festival from 1300, with an awards ceremony at 1400, so please come along and watch – we will have a surprise for the parents! The Club house will also be open to keep the adults warm! We will also be running a small sweet shop and cake sale so a little pocket money would also be appropriate.
What Now?
So that we can plan appropriately, could you please return the Booking Form on page 2, by email to Wayne on wl.loxton@btinternet.com no later than 18 Dec 11; you will also be required to hand in a signed Form on the day. This is important and whilst we are happy to take as many as possible, planning ahead helps, so your cooperation is appreciated. Previous pay feeing camps have been cancelled owing to low numbers only for large numbers of players to turn up on the day unannounced. You will be required to book your child in on the day and because of our experience (bad) with the cold weather, all players MUST have the following items with them, which will be checked on the day and without which they will unfortunately not be able to attend:
A full set of sports clothing including tracksuit bottoms and warm top
Gloves
Woolly Hat
Non- Fizzy Drink
Small snack
Boots are desirable
U9s – must have a gum shield
This is an exciting venture and one that we hope to repeat in the future. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Wayne on 07795373752 or wl.loxton@btinternet.com
